As the largest city in rural Valley County, McCall encompasses 10 square miles and has a population of about 3,100 residents which can more than triple during the summer months and holidays. Named after its founder, Tom McCall, the city is situated on the southern shore of beautiful Payette Lake and is bordered by towering, pine-covered mountains. Originally founded as a logging town, McCall is a destination for outdoor recreation and adventure enthusiasts. With boasting lake views, wildlife, and dozens of trails, McCall does not disappoint. Whether you want to hit the ski slopes, go on a family-friendly bike tour, or listen to live music, there are endless things to do in McCall. Nothing is quite like a lake and sunshine! Take a trip to Payette Lake for jet skiing, paddle boarding, and swimming. Spanning 5,330 acres, Payette is specially designated for boating.
